SCHOOL pupils are about to take to the stage for a Christmas pantomime.
Youngsters from Belmont Community School, in Belmont, Durham, will perform an adaptation of the classic fairytale Sleeping Beauty in the school sports hall from tomorrow (December 11) to Friday.
There are matinee performances tomorrow and on Wednesday, for primary schools and pensioners respectively, followed by evening shows on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Erin Moyse, 15, takes the title role, with Callum Plant, 15, as Prince Galaxy, Matthew Flowers, 15, as Nurse Kick Me, and Gemma Ross, 15, as Scary Fairy.
The cast includes more than 60 pupils aged 11 to 16 and rehearsals began in September.
The show was written and is directed by assistant headteacher Jane Cooper.
Doors open for the evening shows at 6.30pm, with the action starting at 7pm. Tickets are £4, or £3 for concessions, and are available from the school.
