POLICE MEETING: A public meeting for people in Blackhill, Bridgehill and Benfieldside to discuss concerns about crime with police officers is being held in the Blackhill Baptist Church Hall on Pemberton Road, Blackhill, Consett, on November 1 from 7pm-8pm.
The meeting will be attended by a representative from the neighbourhood policing team and will be specific to the area. Individual priorities will be discussed. All members of the community are welcome.
CARE AWARD: Kingsway Nursing Home, in Langley Park, has been nominated for four awards in the Great North-East Care Awards.
If successful, it will go on to represent the region at the Great British Care Home Awards at a ceremony in London in spring.
The winners will be announced on November 24 at a ceremony at Newcastle’s Hilton hotel.
