HOUSE BURGLARIES: Police are appealing for witnesses following two house burglaries in Church Lane, Murton on Tuesday, October 23. Intruders got into the houses through rear patio doors between 3.30pm and 4.30pm and stole items including Masonic regalia, an Acer laptop, ladies jewellery and a Dyson ball vacuum cleaner. Anyone with information is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101.
ROAD CLOSURES: Two roads will be closed on November 2 during Seaham’s annual fireworks display. South Terrace will be closed from 8am until 1pm the following day, while George Elmy Way will be closed from 4pm to 10.30pm.
