COUNTY RECORDS: Durham’s County Records Office opens to the public for family tree researchers and those with an interest in local history, on Thursday (OCT 25). Archivist Dawn Leyland will meet all those interested in attending at the public entrance at County Hall, Aykley Heads, Durham, at 6pm. The introduction to the county archives is expected to last 90 minutes.

CONSTITUENCY SURGERY NorthWest Durham MP Pat Glass stages a constituency surgery at her office, in Gledstone House, Consett, on Friday (OCT 26), from 1 - 2pm. Any constituents who would like to attend are asked to ring the office, on (01207) 501782, to book a place.

CRAFT FAIR: The Parish Centre of St Mary and St Cuthbert Church in Chester-le-Street stages a craft fair, on Saturday (OCT 27). It runs from 10am – 2pm, with no entry charge and features 25 stalls.
