AN arts society is holding an awards ceremony this week, as part of an exhibition to celebrate its 90th anniversary.
Darlington Society of Arts is running the exhibition at The Station, in Richmond, North Yorkshire, until Friday, November 2.
A presentation evening of prizes and awards will be held on Friday (October 26).
Awards will be presented by Peter Barron, editor of The Northern Echo.
The society was founded in 1922, with the main objective of stimulating interest in art in the Darlington area.
Members have been celebrating the 90th anniversary by reflecting on the group’s past, particularly its evolution from an exclusive group of professional arts to a leisure group with more than 100 members.
The society meets on Wednesdays, from 7pm to 9pm, at Hummersknott Academy, during term time only.
