A DARLINGTON primary school has won a national award recognising some of the best construction projects in the country.
Northwood Primary School, off North Road, in Darlington, won the design and innovation award at the RICS awards in London, which celebrate the best initiatives in the land, property and construction sectors.
The school was recognised as a pioneering, sustainable building, which includes planted external walls by the main entrance for children to grow flowers and fruit such as strawberries.
