FIREFIGHTERS will be dispensing advice to customers at a Darlington DIY store during a fire safety event starting on Monday (October 22).

Crews from County Durham and Darlington fire service will be at B&Q in Morton Park on two days next week.

The store is supporting the government’s Fire Kills campaign, encouraging homeowners to check their smoke alarms.

Store manager Paul Dougon said: “The team are really excited about supporting the campaign and helping to provide our customers from the surrounding community with valuable advice from the fire service.

Fire crews will be at the store from 1.30pm to 4.30pm on Tuesday (October 23) and from 10am to noon on Friday (October 26).
