FESTIVE FAIR: A Christmas fair will be held at Hurworth School on Thursday, November 15, at 6pm. Tickets are on sale from the school, priced £1.50 for adults and 5pm for children. MYSTERY NIGHT: St James the Great Church, in Albert Hill, Darlington, is holding a murder mystery fun night on Friday, October 26, at 7pm, in the church hall. All are welcome. Tickets cost £6. To book, call Mary Sweeten, on 01325-283401.
SCHOOL EVENT: Polam Hall School, in Grange Road, Darlington, will be holding its Christmas fair on Saturday, November 24. Father Christmas will open the event at 10am. There will be more than 60 stalls, with activities for children, as well as free parking.
PLANNING MEETING: An extra meeting of Darlington Borough Council’s planning committee will be held on Wednesday (October 24), at 2.30pm, at the Town Hall. The council’s health scrutiny committee will meet at 9.30am on Tuesday (October 23), while the place scrutiny committee will be held on Thursday (October 25), at the same time. Both meetings will be at the Town Hall.
