AN MP spent a morning helping out at a children’s day centre to celebrate World School Milk Day.

Darlington MP Jenny Chapman visited Parkside Childcare last week to meet the children and help them learn about the benefits of drinking milk every day.

Parkside Childcare was one of thousands of schools across more than 30 countries taking part in the event, which highlights how children benefit from the nutrients and vitamins in milk.

Ms Chapman said: “World School Milk Day is a great way of promoting the benefits of drinking milk regularly, and I’m pleased to take part.

“Milk gives our young people the nutrition and energy they need to get through the school day, and I’m impressed with the work Cool Milk are doing to raise awareness.”

Carol Miller, childcare manager at Parkside, said: “At Parkside Childcare we understand the important role that milk plays in ensuring that our children maximise their potential. Milk helps build up the children's immune systems, increasing concentration and creativity enabling children to be ready to learn.”
