MEMBERS of Darlington Foster Carers' Association are getting into the festive spirit after a giant tombola raised funds for a children’s Christmas party.

The group made £340 from a stall at Darlington’s outdoor market on Saturday, with all the money going towards a treat for foster children and foster carers and their families.

Nadene Catterick, the association’s treasurer, said she was delighted with the success.

She said: “The support from people in Darlington was absolutely fantastic and we want to thank everyone so much for their help.

“Although nothing has been decided yet, we will definitely be having a party and hope Santa Claus will come along and give out a present for every child.”
