A CHARITY that provides support for older people is to host a fundraising dance looking back to the golden era of the jive.
The Dress Up, Jive, Swing and Sway event, with a soundtrack of 1940s classics, will be hosted by Age UK at the Darlington and Simpson Rolling Mills working men’s club on Longfield Road, in Darlington, on Friday, October 5, at 7pm.
The event will feature York40s Dance, who will support The Darlington Big Band.
Guests are invited to dress up in vintage clothing as part of the experience.
Organisers hope that the party will follow on from a similar successful event held last year on November 11.
Gillian Peel, CEO of Age UK Darlington, said: “Last year’s event was amazing and the staff and volunteers were very keen to get dressed up again and invite everyone in Darlington to this unique experience.
“Any funds raised will go towards supporting our much needed services which take place throughout Darlington.”
Tickets for the event are £12.50 each and are available from Age UK Darlington’s Bradbury House headquarters or call 01325-362832 or email info@ageukdarlington.org.uk for more information.
