A CHARITY will unveil its new mascot at a family fun day this weekend.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service will reveal the as-yet-unnamed pilot bear at the event at Darlington Rugby Club, in Grange Road, on Sunday.
The bear will meet the crowds and inspire the competitors in an It’s A Knockout contest. There will also be bouncy castles, face painting and a tombola. Refreshments will be available.
The event starts at noon. Entry is free and all are welcome.
Mandy Drake, deputy director at the charity, said: “We can’t wait to introduce bear to the public. He will be with us at fundraising events throughout our region.”
The bear’s flying jacket and goggles were bought after a successful sponsorship appeal in The Northern Echo.
The jacket is adorned with the logos of businesses who offered to help including Stobart Group, Screentech, Co-op, Tesco and the Boundary 500 fundraisers.
If you would like to sponsor the bear, please call Sarah on 01325-487263.
