PEOPLE with questions about the forthcoming police and crime commissioner elections can get more information about the process at an information event this month.
Durham Police Authority is hosting the event, at the Dolphin Centre, in Darlington, on Tuesday, September 25.
Commissioners will replace police authorities following the elections in November.
They will hold the police budget and have responsibility for addressing concerns raised by local residents in their force area.
The Police Authority is currently implementing a transition programme in County Durham and Darlington to help enable a seamless handover of governance to the incoming commissioner.
The event is free to attend and runs from 9am until 12.30pm.
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
To book a place, call the police authority on 0191-383-5511 or email durham.pa@durham.gov.uk by Tuesday.
