TWO young Thai boxers have returned home from the European championships with a clutch of medals.
Ellis Corrie, 14, won a gold medal in his 61kg category at the second Balkanian Children's European Muaythai Championships at the weekend.
Ellis, and Steven Hilton, 12, who both fight out of Darlington Martial Arts Academy, tutored by Paul Hamilton, also won medals in the Wai Kru dance and choreography competition.
Ellis won a silver and Steven a bronze.
The boys were part of a six strong team from the UK, who won the second biggest haul of medals at the championships, only behind hosts Turkey.
Mr Hamilton said: "The lads loved it. It was a great experience for them and gave them something to aim for."
