Darlington head to north Wales today aiming to take with them the momentum they have created by taking maximum points from their last three matches.

Saturday's victory over Tamworth made it three successive league wins, something the club had not achieved since November 2008, which is also when they last put together four wins in row.

Managing that feat this evening would rank as Quakers' best win of the season so far given Wrexham's form.

The Red Dragons are looking to regain top spot having dropping to second due to Fleetwood's win last night, after stringing together a 12-match unbeaten run which includes eight wins.

But Quakers possess team spirit, says caretaker boss Craig Liddle, that was a factor in securing Saturday's 2-0 win.

They were under pressure during the closing stages before youngster Dale Hopson broke away to add the second in injury time.

Liddle, who is without the suspended Liam Hatch this evening, said: "The togetherness and team spirit they've got is tremendous, I can't fault them. I've pushed them harder in training than they've been pushed for a while and they've just go on with it and they're showing the benefits.

"They're feeling fitter and stronger and have won three on the bounce so it's had a positive affect.

"Sam Russell was man of the match because he made some crucial saves, but the whole lot of them deserved credit for digging in, especially at the end to get the result which was the important thing.

"We were hanging on a bit so it was good to get that goal because that calmed my nerves. It was nervy, there were players throwing themselves in front of the ball and blocking everything they could which shows a fantastic team spirit and attitude to see a result out."

Russell, among the last to resolve his wage negotiations with chairman Raj Singh, will be playing against one of his former clubs.

He proved his worth to Quakers again on Saturday and Liddle added: "When I first came into this role one of the first things I did was put Sam back into the team as I don't think there's any better at this level than him."

There shall be a tribute before the game in memory of Gary Speed. One of his sons is in the Welsh club's centre of excellence.
