A CULTURE group set up to save an arts venue will stage another open mic night for writers next week.
The event forms part of Darlington for Culture's (DfC) autumn programme at the threatened Darlington Arts Centre.
DfC was set up last year when news emerged about the potential closure of the Arts Centre. The group has put forward a business plan on how to run the centre.
Next week's event allows authors to take to the floor and read their material, anything from prose and poetry to screenwriting and theatre.
Organiser and DfC committee member John Dean said: "The atmosphere at these nights is pretty special and the talent on show is superb. I hope the next event will continue to showcase the very best writing talent in the area."
The event is on Monday at 7pm. There will be no event next month but they have already been scheduled for the last Monday night of January, February and March.
Entry is £3. For more information visit darlingtonforculture.org
