FREE blood pressure checks, advice on medicine and information and flu vaccinations will be available at a health awareness day.
Stafffom the new Cooperative Pharmacy, in Victoria Road, Darlington, will be on hand to talk to customers at the event tomorrow, from 9am to 3pm.
Paul Patterson, regional manager, said: "The extended pharmacy opening hours will give customers more flexibility when it comes to accessing health advice, in addition to when and how they receive their medication.
"We would encourage people to come and have their blood pressure checked on the day, as keeping an eye on your blood pressure is important, especially as you get older.
"Many people are not aware that they have high blood pressure but, if left untreated, it can lead to heart problems or strokes. By visiting us people can find out more about how pharmacists can help to prevent and manage longerterm health conditions."
The branch is open Monday to Friday, 7am to 11pm, Saturdays, 8am to 10pm and Sundays, 10am to 4pm.
