A CULTURE group set up last year to help save an arts centre has announced two events leading up to Christmas.
Darlington for Culture has organised an afternoon dance and a film show at Darlington Arts Centre.
The dance takes place on Tuesday, November 15, from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. It will see the band Laughing Jacks playing a variety of Rat Pack songs. The event will include afternoon tea.
On Tuesday, December 20, Darlington Film Club will feature a matinee showing of the film It's a Wonderful Life, at 2pm. This includes a Christmas afternoon tea.
Co-organiser Alex Nicholson said: "We decided to organise social and entertaining events during the day to make it more accessible to people in Darlington who perhaps don't want to be out on an evening.
"We aim to plan more regular daytime events for people to enjoy and all ideas will be welcomed."
Tickets for both events are £6. For tickets, call 01325486555. For further details, call Alex Nicholson on 01325287026, email alexnicholson78@googlemail.com or go to darlingtonforculture.org
