CREATIVE children made their own lanterns and then held a parade to celebrate the festival of Diwali.
More than 30 children were joined by their parents and Darlington Borough Council's ranger team for the Luminous Lanterns event, in South Park.
Using recycled goods and decorations, children each made their own lanterns and cards for Diwali, a festival which is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists.
Some of those attending, also held a lantern parade in the park before launching a floating lit lantern.
Park ranger Debbie Hall said: "Everyone has been really enthusiastic, even some of the older children really got stuck into it."
The event was part of the team's half-term workshops. For more information visit darlington.gov.uk.
