A WOMAN suffered a head injury when she was pushed against a fence during an attempted robbery.
The incident happened yesterday at about 7.30am in Wilton Close, Darlington, after which the attacker fled via Clare Avenue.
The would-be robber is described as being a white male, about 5ft 4in. He was wearing a black top with either a black hat or a hood on his head.
He also had half of his face covered up with a black scarf and spoke with a Darlington accent.
Detective Constable Simon Morris said: "We would like anybody with information to come forward as quickly as possible.
"Due to the particular nastiness of this crime, we want this man in custody and off the streets as soon as possible."
