A PAIR of unwanted cats, who were saved by a charity hours before they were due to be put down, are looking for a home.
Brothers Jim and Tim are being cared for by staff at the National Animal Sanctuary Support League (NASSL), near Darlington.
They took them in after being alerted that they were to be put to sleep because their owner was moving house and could not take them to the new property.
The charity stepped in to save the healthy 11-year-old ginger toms two hours before they were due to be euthanased.
Pauline Wilson, from the NASSL, said: "They have had a full vet's check and they are are perfectly fit and healthy.
"They have absolutely lovely natures. They love to curl up and sleep - they are just like a pair of big Bagpusses.
"They would make lovely pets and would be quite at home where they can snooze the day away."
Anyone who would like to give Jim and Tim a home is asked to contact Mrs Wilson on 07748-268822.
