A HOSPICE'S latest event to celebrate its silver anniversary includes a raffle with a top prize of a car.
A Vauxhall Corsa will go to the lucky winner of Darlington's St Teresa's Hospice prize draw at the annual ball in October.
Darlington Mayor Lee Vasey was the first person to buy a ticket for the 25th anniversary car draw.
Councillor Vasey said: "What the hospice does is marvellous and I am delighted to offer my support in its 25th anniversary year."
Jane Bradshaw, hospice director, said: "We are delighted to be organising this silver anniversary draw, raffling a car for the first time ever in aid of our hospice. This is possible thanks to the support of many local firms, and in particular to Sherwoods Vauxhall, and Cummins Engine Company.
