A PRIVATE collection of antique glass was sold at auction for more than £10,000.
Thomas Watson Auctioneers, in Northumberland Street, Darlington, said its summer antique sale was very successful and included an increase in online bids.
A spokesman for the company said: "The auction was very well attended and also saw a big increase in online bidders via the live internet bidding system."
The sale included a large consignment of Whitefriars Glass from a private collection, which sold for a total of £10,375.
Bidding via the telephone and online also meant Chinese porcelain was sought after. A Kangxi blue and white charger, with an estimate of only £50 to £70, reached £3,000.
Other highlights included a Gillows 19th Century burr walnut writing desk, which sold for £2,600, and a George IIImahogany chest selling for £1,700.
