Former Darlington striker Chris Senior has joined Alfreton Town.
Senior scored Quakers’ winning goal in the FA Trophy final last month, but was released just four days later.
He has now signed a two-year deal with Alfreton and will have the chance to play against Darlington during the forthcoming campaign as his new club won the Blue Square Bet North title last season.
Meanwhile, Darlington have announced that a Sunderland XI will visit The Northern Echo Arena for a pre-season friendly.
Mark Cooper’s side will host Steve Bruce’s outfit on Wednesday, August 3 (7.45pm).
The Black Cats complete the North-East big three line-up, with Quakers welcoming the Magpies on Friday, July 15 (7.45pm), and Boro eight days later on Saturday, July 23 (3pm).
Tickets are £10 adults, £5, concessions, while season ticket holders can buy three tickets for the price of two – £20 adults, £10 concessions.
As a result of Wearsiders’ visit, Quakers friendly fixture with Whitby has been brought forward to July 30 (3pm).
Also, Darlington have announced two fixtures in London, against Staines on July 18 and Brackley Town on July 20.
