STAFF and customers at a builders' merchant took on a speed skill challenge to raise money for a children's charity.
The Darlington branch of Jewson raised £250 for Barnardo's by getting people to drill five screws into a piece of wood in the fastest time.
Branch manager Graeme Wilson said: "I'd like to thank everyone who helped make the fundraiser such a success. The fastest time was a fantastic 17.28 seconds. The prize was a drill that was donated by Bosch, which certainly seemed to encourage people to donate to the cause."
