THE streets of Darlington will become a riot of Brazilian colour and music when a samba teacher joins the Community Carnival parade.
The 29th Darlington Community Carnival will take place on Saturday, June 25, from 11am to 5pm, in Stanhope Park.
Samba teacher Gregory Abouna will be joining the carnival parade, encouraging the crowds to feel the beat and learn some new moves.
Together with a group of dancers from across the North-East, he will be dancing in the parade and then salsa dancing in the Arts Centre plaza.
The carnival parade will leave the park at noon and work its way through the town, with street entertainers performing along the route.
The parade will also feature entertainment from local bands, dance and arts groups. In Stanhope Park, there will be free family entertainment, bands, activities, community and charity information stalls and performances.
From 7.30pm, the Vast Majorities will perform in the Arts Centre for this year's carnival charity, First Stop.
