Darlington’s eagerly-awaited Wembley DVD went on sale yesterday and hundreds of fans have already bought their copy of A Day to Remember.
The production tracks the squad’s trip to London last month for the FA Trophy final, which Quakers won 1-0 against Mansfield Town.
Beginning with the long journey from The Northern Echo Arena and finishing with Chris Senior’s historic, last-gasp goal, the dvd features interviews with players and the management, including the manager’s father, Terry Cooper, who joined up with the squad in the build-up to the big day.
Priced £14.99, the dvd takes fans behind the scenes, with an exclusive insight into the Darlington dressing room, including parts of manager Cooper’s inspiring pre-match team talk.
“It’s another game, the only difference is you’ve earned the right to play at a fantastic stadium,” Cooper tells his players.
“Just play the game, not the occasion. How many people come and play the occasion and get beat?
“Be a winner, make history, and enjoy yourself.”
Darlington’s dvd includes all the reaction after the final whistle, with footage from within the changing room, encapsulating an historic and proud day for the club.
Produced by production company Gibber on behalf of Darlington, the dvd incorporates a 25-minute highlights package of the game, as well as a special feature of BBC Tees’ now famous commentary by Ray Simpson and Kevan Smith of Senior’s goal, the full-time whistle and the moment captain Ian Miller lifts the FA Trophy.
“I’ve seen the dvd and I love it,” said Cooper. “It just paints the perfect picture of the whole occasion.
“I’m sure our supporters will love it, too.”
