VICTIMS of a three-car collision in a North-East town were treated by air ambulance paramedics.
The incident took place shortly after 10.30am in West Auckland Road in Darlington.
It is believed a male driver of one of the cars involved took ill at the wheel of his car and crashed into two other opposite the Co-operative store.
At 10.41am, a Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) crew arrived at the scene in the charity's road vehicle and treated two females, both believed to be in their forties, who had been in separate vehicles.
Both were complaining of similar minor injuries caused by the jarring of the impact.
A GNAAS spokesman said: "The incident happened at low speed as it occurred in a built up area and in slow-moving traffic.
"Subsequently the injuries sustained were not serious.
"We took the two injured women to Darlington Memorial Hospital where they received assistance."
The male driver was treated by the ambulance service and his injuries are not thought to have been serious.
