A YOUNG park user has won a gift voucher after naming a wooden sculpture.
Bethany Barnes provided the inspiration for the name of one of four sculptures in South Park.
The sculpture, which is sited in the rose garden, is called Wildlife Wood. Produced by Thomas Craggs at the Green Fair held last year, it features several animals.
The setting features reclaimed cobblestones from nearby Polam Lane as part of the eco-friendly philosophy.
Bethany, a 12-year-old from Darlington, won a £25 voucher to spend in WH Smith courtesy of the Friends of the park.
The sculpture is one of four in the park. The latest is a squirrel, to add to others featuring an owl and a rabbit.
Three of them were commissioned by the Friends group, with the rabbit produced as a tribute from another group.
