A MUSIC project aimed at teenagers celebrates its fourth anniversary today with a special event.
A number of local artists will play at Newblood Live, a regular gig for 14 to 17-yearolds, tonight, to mark the anniversary.
ManiWrightson, Oli Patterson, The Scholars and Tomorrow We Radio will all perform at the Forum music centre, in Borough Road, Darlington.
Newblood Live was set up by former Darlingtonmember of Youth Parliament Ashleigh Trevarrow to provide a showcase for the town's young musical talent.
It continues to attract good crowds at its regular gigs.
Councillor Cyndi Hughes, Darlington Borough Council's cabinet member for children and young people, said: "Newblood goes from strength to strength and it is testament to the wealth of talent and enthusiasm that young people in the town have for music.
"The gigs give young people the chance to perform and to enjoy music in a safe and fun environment. Congratulations to all those involved and best wishes for a fun birthday event."
