A COUPLE are celebrating their wedding anniversary by asking their guests to donate money to charity instead of bringing gifts.
Rosetta and Steve Forster are holding a party for family and friends at Albert Hill Workingmen's Club, Darlington, on May 28, to celebrate their anniversary.
They decided to ask their 60 guests to donate money to Darlington Breast Cancer Support Group rather than bring presents because Mrs Forster's sister, Fiona Neal, is recovering from breast cancer.
Mrs Forster said: "We've got everything we want after 40 years together, so we thought it would be best to donate money to charity. We 're really looking forward to the day and getting everyone together."
The couple are also holding a raffle on the day to raise money for the charity.
Any businesses who are able to donate prizes are asked to contact Mrs Forster on 01325-259197 or 07817-543920.
