PEOPLE in Darlington are being asked to vote for their favourite photograph of the town as part of a competition.

The competition about what inspires people about Darlington is being run by Teesside University.

The photographs included images of Darlington's people, landscape, focal points across the town and people's own personal memories.

The aim of the photography competition, which links to the opening of the University's new £13m campus in the town, has been to encourage people to visually depict what is special to them about Darlington.

Shortlisted photographs will be displayed on the University's website, with visitors asked to vote for their favourite.

Voting is open until the end of June.

The entries are in the following age categories - 11 to 16 years, 17 to 21 years and over 22 years.

A winner from each category will each receive £100 worth of photography vouchers.

The winning photograph from each age category, along with the image from each runner-up, will be framed and displayed in Teesside University's new campus in Darlington.

The winning photographers and their families will be invited to the launch of the new campus.

The new 4,000 sq metre campus is due to open this summer and offer undergraduate and postgraduate teaching building is located at Central Park, Haughton Road.
