A VILLAGE has announced it will hold its first country show in recent years at the end of the summer.

Sponsors are being sought for the Hurworth event, which is being organised by Hurworth Parish Council, and will replace the village gala day. It is planned to take place in The Grange Community Centre grounds on Saturday, September 17.

As well as entertainment, it will include traditional pursuits, such as a vegetable show, and it is hoped people will come from further afield than the village to exhibit.

If successful, it is hoped the show will become an annual event.

Hospitality tents will be available to sponsors.
