JUNK food addicts at a Darlington school have been put off their bad habits after a being shown what happens during a brain aneurysm.
Pupils at Hurworth School also found out about what really goes into cheap burgers and whether pizza can actually be good for you after a visit from the Junk Food Roadshow yesterday.
The event was hosted by health education organisation Food Lab, which came up with some hands-on activities to show the year nine pupils what really goes into their food.
Demonstrations included a balloon being burst to illustrate what happens during a brain aneurysm and letting pupils see a pig's heart to show the potential hidden nasties sometimes used in burgers.
Leigh Austin, of Food Lab, said: "You couldn't have asked for a better group of children.
"The workshop is based around healthy eating and shows what goes into junk food.
"All of the children were very receptive to the workshop."
