Darlington are looking for their third win of the season over Tamworth today after the match passed a midday pitch inspection.
After freezing temperatures on two consecutive nights an inspection was required at The Lamb Ground, but referee Dave Bond gave the go-ahead.
Ground staff this morning concentrated much of their efforts on one section of the pitch, in front of the dug-outs, which does not receive as much sunlight as the remainder of the playing surface.
An industrial heater was used today and yesterday to ensure the game would go ahead, which is good news for Quakers boss Mark Cooper who was keen to play.
His team have enjoyed an upturn in form of late and he has made two changes today to his line-up with the aim of maintaining that improvement.
Adam Quinn, cup-tied for last Saturday's FA Trophy win over Bath City, returns to the centre of defence at the expense of Dan Burn, while Marc Bridge-Wilkinson is also in the Cooper's line-up.
After enjoying a three-month loan spell from Carlisle United, the attacking midfielder joined this week and goes into the side ahead of Curtis Main who drops to the bench.
Quakers have already beaten Tamworth twice this season, on bot occasions at The Northern Echo Arena, once in the league and also in the FA Trophy.
In the Tamworth starting XI for the first time is striker Jason Bradley who signed for Darlington at the beginning of the 2007-08 season.
However, then manager Dave Penney did not give him an appearance in the first team and he was released after six months.
Cooper began his managerial career at Tamworth, initially as player/manager, and was in charge for two and a half years after being appointed in 2004.
