Darlington Borough Council has warned of potential traffic delays in Darlington town centre tonight (Wed Jan 19).
This is due to emergency electrical works on St Cuthbert's Way southbound between the fire station and the roundabout at Victoria Road.
The emergency repair work, being carried out by a contractor for CE Electric, is to deal with the fault that may have caused the power outtage in the town centre this week.
The work will involve coning off one lane of the dual carriageway and will not be completed before rush hour.
People are advised of the potential for delays to traffic on this section of road, and on neighbouring roads.
Where possible drivers are advised to find alternative routes.
