PEOPLE have been warned to be on the lookout for a man offering to do odd household jobs.
The man, who may work alone or with two others, has been knocking on doors in and around Darlington offering to clear household and garden waste.
He was last seen wearing a green Barbour type jacket and driving a white Ford Transit van with the registration MA56 NFJ.
Inspector Mick Button, from Darlington's Neighbourhood Policing team, said: "There is no suggestion that this man is doing anything wrong, but people should always be on their guard.
"In the past, soliciting business from households has been used as a ruse to check the property and see what time people are home."
Anybody with information is asked to call Darlington police on 0345-60-60-365.
