A PAIR of tap-dancing turkeys entertained shoppers in Darlington at the weekend, as part of a seasonal range of street performances.
Maynard Flip Flap's Man in a Box joined Mike Hancock to dress as turkeys on Saturday.
The tap-dancing turkeys entertained the crowds in three sessions during the day.
It was the second in a summer-long programme of street theatre organised by Darlington Borough Council.
As well as Saturday entertainment, additional performers will take to the streets on Thursdays and Fridays during the school summer break.
Councillor Lee Vasey, the council's cabinet member for leisure services, said: "This street art is being very well received.
"It is bringing the town alive and giving everyone a lift as summer comes.
"I am very much looking forward to seeing some of our own home-grown talent taking the opportunity to showcase their skills too."
Anyone who possesses musical skills, is able to perform theatre or mime, or has other talents suited to the street art programme, can contact Kevin Edwards, arts development officer on (01325) 348849, or Marion Bynoe, events development officer on (01325) 388151.
