ANOTHER Darlington school will undergo a major redevelopment after its plans were given the go-ahead.
The £3m revamp of Cockerton C of E Primary School is expected to be completed next summer.
Darlington Borough Council's planning applications committee yesterday approved the plans.
Currently, the school's 210 pupils attend an outdated 80-year-old school.
The redevelopment will be situated on the school's playing field.
Pupils will remain in the current building while work is going on. It will then be demolished when the school is completed.
New playing fields, a multi-use games area, landscaped gardens and car parking will also be provided.
Use of the facilities will be restricted, to prevent excessive noise and lighting for nearby residents.
The school will include classrooms with interactive whiteboards, creative arts areas, outdoor classrooms and a performing arts studio.
