A VILLAGE nursery school has marked its first anniversary with a celebration tea.
Children at the Westview Day Nursery, in Middleton St George, made hats and enjoyed a special number one cake, decorated with animal and insect figures.
Guest of honour was Councillor Doris Jones, who opened the nursery last year.
Westview has expanded the services it provides, and now cares for children up to five, as well as providing after school and holiday care for those aged up to 11.
Coun Jones said: "It was real treat to be invited back and it was lovely to see how the nursery has grown.
"The nursery provides a wonderful service and the children absolutely loved the party."
Owner Hazel Tarakji said: "The children enjoy many activities with the nursery, walking around the village visiting different points of interest like the train station, local shop and airport."
The nursery holds another party next Friday, when children will come dressed in their favourite football team's colours.
