RESIDENTS will be asked to provide their ideas about how to upgrade a park at a consultation event this week.
Tommy Crooks Park, in the Eastbourne area of Darlington, is among 22 in the town to receive a total of £1.1m funding through the national Playbuilders scheme.
Half of the projects will start this year, with Tommy Crooks Park among those.
The project will focus on creating play areas for children aged eight to 13-years-old, and combine the natural environment of the park with an adventure playground.
Environmental regeneration charity Groundwork is helping with the project.
A first consultation event for residents will take place on Thursday, March 11, at 10am in Firthmoor Community Centre. Groups or people who would like to be involved can also contact Lisa Kwok at Groundwork on 01325-353791.
