Darlington have today ended their search for a goalkeeper having brought in Shane Redmond from Nottingham Forest.
The Irish-born 20-year-old will be in contention to make his debut this evening at home Northampton Town if the paperwork is completed in time.
Redmond has won 15 caps for the Republic of Ireland under 21s and has previously been on loan with Burton Albion where he made five appearances.
Redmond, who is 6ft 2in, is yet to make his debut for Nottingham Forest having found his route to the City Ground first team blocked by Lee Camp and Paul Smith.
He takes the number of Irish players in Steve Staunton's squad up to four following the arrivals of Simon Madden, Gary Dempsey, Tadhg Purcell at The Northern Echo Arena.
In total Darlington have signed seven players during January, and when Redmond makes his debut he will become the 48th different player to feature this season.
