RESIDENTS have their chance to put forward their views on proposals to freeze council tax next week.
Darlington Borough Council holds a talking together meeting on Monday, January 25, to gauge input about the new budget proposals.
The council announced its budget proposals earlier this month, one of the first authorities in the region to do so.
The proposed plans include a freeze in council tax but also see £4.7m cut from the budget and the loss of 77 posts from the workforce.
Council leaders are consulting with residents, opposition parties and their own staff about the proposals.
People can attend the Talking Together event, which takes place at the Dolphin Centre, on Monday, from 5.30pm. Councillors, officers and representatives from the police, health and fire and rescue services will be on hand to discuss their plans.
Residents can email their views to connecting@darlington.gov.uk or submit them via a form on the council website.
Information is also available in this month's Town Crier magazine.
