AN author will be signing copies of her new novel in a town centre book store this weekend.

Darlington author Kath Radford will be at the Waterstone's branch in her hometown on Saturday, January 23, signing copies of Beyond Belief.

Beyond Belief is a crime story in which a killer strikes in a busy general hospital.

Ms Radford will be in the Cornmill Centre store between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday.

Born and raised in Yorkshire, she initially trained as a nurse in Darlington before joining the Armed forces.

She took early retirement from a career which included working as a sister in the intensive care unit at Darlington Memorial Hospital and latterly as senior nurse in critical care.

After retiring, she turned to writing and joined Darlington-based writing group Inkerman Writers.

She has already had her first two short stories published, one of which gained a highly recommended award in a national competition.
