PARENTS and villagers are being invited to find out about proposed works to a primary school, which is sharing in £2.7m worth of funding.
Staff at Hurworth Primary School, near Darlington, will host an information event to showcase a refurbishment of the school.
The school is one of four which will share in capital funding to upgrade the site.
It has also won funding from a Government source which will enable it to undergo £2.5m of refurbishments and extension.
An extension of the current infant building will help accommodate the Juniors and Little Acorns Nursery.
A letter sent to parents said: "The aim of the project is to create a primary school that is equipped for 21st century teaching and learning, and that is at the heart of its community with children's services in reach of every family."
The event will be an informal meeting to enable people to view the proposed plans, make comments and ask questions.
The session takes place on Wednesday, January 20 from 3.30pm to 7pm, in the junior building on Roundhill Road, Hurworth.
People who cannot attend can also send in comments via a form sent out with the letters.
