MORE than £3,000 has been raised for children's charities by pantomime audiences.
Darlington Civic Theatre's production of Aladdin has reached the milestone during the final week of the pantomime's run.
The money raised has totalled £3,196.96. It will be shared across various children's charities, including Children in Need and Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
A special collection has been made to the Rainbow Child Foundation, of which star Chico is a patron.
A spokesman for the theatre said: "The pantomime starring Chico and hilarious double act the Grumbleweeds has been incredibly successful, and has attracted generous audiences who gave to those in need over the Christmas period."
Aladdin continues at Darlington Civic Theatre until Sunday.
Tickets are available for £11.50 to £19 on 01325-486555 or at www.darlingtonarts.co.uk.
