DETECTIVES are continuing to examine evidence as they investigate a suspected arson which wrecked nine vehicles.
The blaze at Darlington Car and Commercial Recovery, which is known to look after vehicles impounded by the police, could have been an attempt to destroy evidence.
Two wagons, six cars and a van were destroyed in the blaze, which happened at Banks Road, in the Lingfield Point area of Darlington, on the evening of Saturday, November 14.
Detective Constable Dave Ripley said tonight that the team working on the case were waiting for the results of forensic tests taken at the scene.
"We are still looking at this as a very serious arson, and we are moving forward with it," he said.
