A TEENAGER has won the first fishing competition set up to honour a community champion.
Fisherman took part in the 2009 Champions fishing contest at the Maidendale Nature and Fishing Reserve, in Darlington.
They competed for the Bill Cook Memorial Trophy, which was set up in memory of Mr Cook, who was a stalwart of the Firthmoor community but died last month aged 78.
Winner of the competition was Jack Aldworth, from Shildon, whose catch was made up purely of roach.
He was presented with the trophy by Councillor Lee Vasey, a former colleague of Mr Cook.
