TEMPORARY traffic lights will be installed on a major Darlington road while road resurfacing works are carried out this week.
The project will start on Haughton Road in Darlington, from Eastmount Road to Russell Street, on Tuesday.
Work is expected to start at 9.30am and due to last until Friday.
Two and three-way temporary traffic lights will be installed on Haughton Road at the junctions with Eastmount Road and Russell Street to manage traffic through the resurfacing works area.
To help manage the disruption for traffic along this route, the traffic lights at the Vicarage Road junction, at Darlington College, will be turned off when works are on site.
Traffic lights at the throughabout on Haughton Road will also be turned off for the duration of the resurfacing works, with the throughabout signed and coned to operate as a roundabout during this period.
Pedestrian crossings linked into these junctions will be out of operation during the works.
The works have been programmed during half term to minimise the impact on students and pupils of Darlington College and schools in the area.
