MUSICIANS will fight for supremacy and a £500 prize in an annual battle of the bands which kicks off this weekend.
Amplified's Battle of the Bands will see 30 bands competing for the cash and ten hours of recording time at a Darlington studio.
The competition, held in Seen, Beaumont Street, Darlington, will take place over eight weeks with five different heats, with the first heat being held on Sunday, October 25.
Two bands from each heat will go through to the semi finals, with the winning musicians receiving the money along with recording time at The Forum, Borough Road.
Competitors will be judged on their musicianship, stage presence, song-writing and originality.
This week, Misled Icons, Emlyn In Words, Comets, The Sex Generals, The Bends and Get Educated will perform, with the running order announced on the night.
Doors open at 6pm and admission is free.
